Magnets are beginning to be commonly looked at by businesses who are wanting to try alternative fixtures and fittings methods without breaking the bank. Neodymium magnets provide a great power to weight ratio which can be ideal for shops who are looking to maximise their space.
If you didn’t already know, Neodymium magnets are the strongest permanent magnets that are commercially available. By using these magnets, shops and (other businesses) can utilise wall space and other fixtures and fittings without the worry that the magnet won’t be strong* enough to hold the product in place.
Recently, we were approached by an overseas manufacturer who was wanting to design a vertical display for skis - to save space for a well known sports shop. Skis are made of plastic components but also have 2 metallic wires built inside the plastic to strengthen them. Thanks to this, skis are magnetically receptive.
With this in mind, we designed and produced a rubber based neodymium assembly with the knowledge that this would be the ideal solution for them to provide safety to customers and staff and to save shop floor space - their main objective.
Since the initial installation, we’ve also been contracted to replace some of the used/damaged displays.
