warmroom® Magnetic Radiator Heat Saver

warmroom is a flexible magnetic radiator foil designed to reduce heat transfer from steel radiators into the wall behind them. It attaches directly to the rear of a suitable water-filled steel radiator, without adhesive, separate fixings or removing the radiator.

The dark-brown magnetic face holds the material against the radiator, while the low-emissivity aluminium surface faces the wall. This reduces radiative heat transfer across the space behind the radiator and limits the amount of heat passing into the wall. Radiators positioned against external walls are the priority, particularly in solid-wall properties or buildings with poorer wall insulation.

warmroom was independently tested by Energy House Labs at the University of Salford in a controlled study representing conditions experienced during a typical UK winter day. Under the test conditions, it reduced space-heating gas use by 2.9% ±2.1 and reduced 24-hour external-wall heat loss directly behind the tested radiator by 54%. A maximum reduction of 66% was measured during the 24-hour period, with no measurable adverse effect on internal space-heating provision.

Results will vary between properties according to factors including wall construction, radiator position, heating pattern, system flow temperature and the proportion of radiators installed against external walls.
