ANCHOR MAGNETS LTD HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY 2005 It is the policy of Anchor Magnets ltd to provide a safe and healthful work environment for all employees in order to minimize the risk of work related injuries and illnesses. This shall be achieved through the application and enforcement policies, and by providing employees with training and devices necessary to perform their assigned duties safely. It is important that all employees co-operate to ensure the success of the Health and Safety Policy and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act, Sections 7 and 8. HASAW Section 7 states that employees must take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions and that they must cooperate with their employer so far as is necessary to enable the employer to comply with his duties under the Act. HASAW Section 8 states that is an offence for anyone to intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare. Anchor Magnets ltd will comply with all lawful regulations issued by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) The principle Applicable Document throughout this policy is the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Since unsafe actions by employees may endanger not only themselves, but also fellow employees, appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any employee who wilfully disregards safety rules. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.
